Survey Results

We conducted  a survey in order to decide the sub-genre of our opening and other aspects such as props, setting and characters.

Here are the results concerning these aspects:

The results from this tell us that a majority of people prefer supernatural horrors rather than slasher horrors.

Another question:

The results from this question show that a majority of the audience are more afraid by weapons which are associated with slasher horror films, contradicting the question before.

These results show a close split between the setting of a haunted house or woods/forest, both which can be used in a slasher horror film.

In terms of characters a majority of participants said they mostly identified with the teenage character(s) of the film.

From these results, we have decided to create a slasher horror opening sequence that targets a mixture of male and female teenagers. This is because a majority who took the survey were under 25, found weapons the scariest and found settings where a typical slasher would occur to be the most un nerving.
